It was in 1952 deshaposhini formaly formed kalasamithi as its arts wing under the guidenship of Thikkodiun.who become Deshaposhini’s permanant playwrighter.deshaposhini Kalasamithi played number of dramas in various stages.

The first 16 members of the library came into existence  with President-.P.K.Kunjiraman Vice president-E.Sankaran nair secretary-M.Pachan Joint Secretary-K.C.Govinda menon Tresurer-P.Bappu the first working committee had in it adequte number of young workers along with the elderly president and tresurer.
