Kuthiravattom pappu, the man who symbolizes Kozhikode dialect, humour and dedication was an artist who grew in the culturally charged atmosphere of desaposhini. It was through Thikkodiyan’s ‘theeppori’ that pappu first arrested the attention and admiration of people. In ‘theeppori’ pappu’s role was that of a servent.
In the scene where pappu tries to light cigarette for his master, he moves his hands in accordance with the master’s dizzy head movements. Along with the master’s dizzy movements, pappu moves the cigarette he holds in a humorous style, making the audience laugh out loud. Thus pappu clicks!
