Guidelines

These guidelines are formulated  to help and promote, rather than to constrain the use of library materials and services. This library is working as per the Kerala Library council rules and regulations.

General

  • Readers should maintain peace in the library and should not disturb other readers  in any way.
  • Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library material in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he will be charged  as per the library norms.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited. Cell phone should be set in silent mode and usage of mobile is not entertained in reading room.
  • Readers  and members are not allowed to enter inside the counters.

Issue &Return

  • The borrower may return or renew the book on or before the due date. For renewing, presentation of the material is compulsory. .
  •  The library can recall material after two weeks of issue. Materials to be replaced on reserve can be recalled any time.
  • If a book is not returned to the library when due(14 days after the issue), the borrower will be fined Re.1/- per five days. Overdue fines can be paid in cash at the counter. The library can refuse to issue books to a borrower having overdue books.
  • Loss of borrowed material must be immediately reported in writing. The replacement charge (double the current price) for lost material, will also include overdue charges if  applicable.
